The Norway Pavilion welcomes guests to the Age of the Vikings. This 58,000 square foot country was designed to represent the picturesque Norwegian villages found in the cities of Bergen, Oslo, Alesund and Setesdahl. Simple landscaping is the key to Norway’s natural woodsy look with the use of architectural and natural elements such as stone, wood, tile and waterfalls for an authentic feel.
The pavilion includes four distinct types of Norwegian architecture including a detailed replica of the Gol Stave church found in the Norsk Folkemuseum in Oslo and the Bergen style with gabled windows and close-set wooden buildings as represented in the Fishing village.
Norway offers authentic Norwegian cuisine and Princess Storybook dining at Restaurant Akerhaus, a replica of the famous 14th century castle which still stands in the harbor in Oslo. And if it is a sweet tooth you have, the Kringla Bakeri og Kafe has great pastries, sweet pretzels and Rice Cream, a rich and creamy rice pudding with strawberry topping.
Take in the sounds of Norwegian folk music as Spelmanns Gledje perform in a 15 minute show or give your kids a history lesson at the KidCot Stop located in the The Puffin’s Roost.
