American Adventure Pavilion

The American Adventure, representing the United States, is the host pavilion at Epcot that takes you back to colonial times with architectural designs that resemble the classic Georgian style of the 1700s. Combining elements from Independence Hall, Monticello, Boston’s Old State House and Colonial Williamsburg, this stately house is intended to be the “People’s Mansion”. Disney used 110,000 hand-made Georgian clay bricks aged for authenticity and finished it with a slate roof complete with a widow’s walk, clock and bell tower.

As you enter the pavilion, you will notice paintings and infamous quotations that adorn the walls that are from such famous people like Walt Disney, Samuel Walter Foss, Althea Gibson, Charles A. Lindbergh, Herman Melville and Thomas Wolfe.

The main attraction is “The American Adventure”, a dynamic 30 minute stage show about American history using audio-animatronic actors. Before entering the 1,000 seat theater, guest ascend an escalator through the Hall of Flags which displays a collection of flags that have represented the United States throughout the course of American history.

Across the promenade from The American Adventure on the lagoon is the outdoor amphitheater known as the America Gardens Theatre. Live performance are held here throughout the year like the Candlelight Processional and Eat to the Beat.  The theme at the pavilion is patriotism which is represented well throughout the gardens with hues of red, white and blue and different varieties of roses that are named after U.S. Presidents.
