Grab your lederhosen and head to the Germany Pavilion for the fantasy, festivities and a stein of beer .  This charming pavilion is designed to look like a quaint little German town with architecture collected from different eras and regions of Germany.  Here you are transported to the heart of Bavaria as soon as you step foot into the cobblestone platz for the celebration of Oktoberfest as you eat, drink and be merry with traditional German performances.

Oktoberfest was established in Germany in the year 1810. What started out as a public celebration of the marriage of King Ludwig I of Bavaria to Princess Theresia, has turned into a year round celebration in this pavilion.  With live entertainment, Schnitzel, strudel and an abundance of BEER, the taste of Bavaria is yours for the taking.

The backdrop of this colorful pavilion is a castle that is a combination of the Eltz Castle on the Mosel River and the Stahleck Castle on the Rhine.  Take note of the the statute of St George and the dragon in the center of the square which, according to legend, St. George slayed while on a pilgrimage to the Middle East. As the clock tower strikes every hour, two Hummel figures appear just like the famous Glockenspiel in Munich.

While the Germany Pavilion lacks a ride or a movie, it is rich in culture, dining, shopping for authentic German goods and entertainment galore.  It also offers a wonderfully decorated extensive model village with working model trains.  This treasure for young and old alike is a great place to slow down and enjoy your German beer.  The area has benches and shade to rest for a moment and take in the intricate details of the village and the operating trains.
