One of the best parts about visiting the Walt Disney World Resort is there is something for everyone of all ages. From magical moments for the littles ones to exhilarating experiences for the thrill seekers, Disney strives to create a one of a kind experience in every park from the food down to each attraction.

We all know that Florida can bring some pretty hot and humid days, especially in the spring and summer. If you are looking for a way to take a break from the heat and spend a day relaxing and staying cool, then you must check out the Walt Disney World Resort water parks. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach are perfect for those days when you need to grab a drink, take a break by the pool and dive into some wet and wild attractions. Both water parks feature a broad range of fun including water slides, pools, themed water areas and kiddy attractions.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is a beach oasis that was created when an epic typhoon swept through the area. The water park is hidden in a tropical paradise themed with lush gardens, river rapids and slides. It offers a very laid back atmosphere perfect for those families who need that relaxing experience. The water park offers some of the wettest and wildest attractions at Walt Disney World. It features 7 slides, a water coaster known as the Crush ‘n’ Gusher, a floating river and a giant wave pool. It also has a children’s play area that features different activities including slides, floating water play structures, fountains, waterfalls and animals. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon also welcomed a new attraction! Miss Adventure Falls opened in May 2017. Board a treasure raft and hit the high seas for family fun. Miss Adventure Falls is the longest ride in the history of the Disney water parks!

Disney’s Blizzard Beach

Disney’s Blizzard Beach is a hidden winter wonderland basking in the Florida sun. Rumor has it, a freak snow storm covered Florida and a ski resort sprung up on Walt Disney World property. The park is a themed ski resort complete with ski lifts and the look of snow throughout! It features 7 water slides, a floating river and an acre-size wave pool. It also has two extensive children’s play areas. Tikes Peak which is geared more towards younger children containing fountains, water jets and kid-sized slides. For something a little more adventurous, check out Ski Patrol Training Camp. This interactive area includes curvy waterslides, a floating iceberg course, and a zip line! This area is perfect for older children who aren’t quite ready for the bigger slides.

If you are visiting the Walt Disney World Resort this summer, you will need to check out the Frozen Games happening now at Blizzard Beach. Party with Kristoff and Olaf in a flurry of fun family activities! Throughout the day, guests can interact with characters, have a snowball toss or play some limbo! The Frozen Games take place daily through August 13, 2017.

Food

One area that makes the Walt Disney World Resort water parks unique are the food options. While all of the Disney parks offer your typical burgers and nuggets, the water parks feature menu options that you will not find anywhere else on the Walt Disney World property. From ice cream and donuts to nachos and sandwiches, the water parks can be a great place to try something new, splurge on a treat or grab a cold drink.

One option that is popular with guests is the Sand Pail Ice Cream at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. This delicious treat features a sand pail filled with two kinds of soft serve ice cream, topped with a waffle cone and cookie pieces, hot fudge, sprinkles and cherry!  A perfect treat to indulge!

Guests will receive a wristband and will be able to enter the area after the wristband has been confirmed by a cast member. These spaces can accommodate four guests.

There is also a premium cabana option that allows guests to receive concierge type service while they are in the park. This option includes a private cabana with a personal attendant, private lockers, all day drink mugs, a cooler with bottled water, comfortable lounge chairs, a table and rental towels. These spaces can accommodate six guests. All premium spaces can be booked in advance.
