Walt Disney World Without Kids

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go to Walt Disney World without kids?  When our children were younger, we absolutely loved taking them to Walt Disney World! We always had such a blast, and created so many great memories! But now they’re grown up and married with families of their own. Does this mean that trips to Disney are no longer in our future? Of course not! While my husband and I still go to Disney World with our daughters and their families, we also enjoy trips where it’s just the two of us. There is nothing better than an adults-only trip to Walt Disney World!

Relaxation

There are so many relaxing, romantic, educational, and fun things to do when it is just the two of you. Have you dreamed of a relaxing day at the spa without having to worry about what your little ones are up to? Well, during an adults-only trip, you can spend time relaxing at one of the amazing Senses Spas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa or Saratoga Spring Resort. The spas offer so many heavenly services, including a massage for two!

Upscale Resorts

When you’re on an adults-only trip, you might want to splurge a little bit on your resort. While all of the resorts at Walt Disney World are fantastic, there are a few Deluxe and Moderate resorts that are my personal favorites for an adults-only trip. Many of the resorts are so romantic at night and are perfect for an evening stroll with the one you love. My favorite romantic Deluxe resort is the Polynesian. Tiki torches dimly light the pathways, and you can see the twinkling lights from the Magic Kingdom, and even the nighttime fireworks display from the beach. My two favorite Moderate resorts for a romantic trip for two are Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter and Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. They are both such quaint resorts and have beautiful grounds, especially at night.

Signature Dining

When my husband and I are traveling alone, we like to enjoy Signature Dining at some of the restaurants that we wouldn’t normally dine at with family due to the cost. Signature Dining restaurants require two dining credits per person if you are on the Disney Dining plan, but we feel they are definitely worth it. My husband’s favorite is the Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and my favorite is Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. If you decide to dine at Narcoossee’s, try to make your Advanced Dining Reservation later in the evening so that you can watch the fireworks from your table, or from the wrap around verandah along Bay Lake. It’s amazing!

Golfing and Tours

If you or your spouse enjoy golfing, you’ll want to check out one of the four beautiful golf courses at Walt Disney World! And if you’re like me and are unable to hit that little white ball with a club, you can always take golfing lessons while on vacation…or try one of the two miniature golf courses, Fantasia Gardens or Winter Summerland.

One of the more educational things that you can do at Walt Disney World is to take a tour. There are tours to help improve your gardening skills, learn about Walt

Disney and his parks, and so much more. Several of my guests have enjoyed the Keys to the Kingdom Tour, the Backstage Magic Tour, and the Behind the Seeds Tour. And if you have a Disney Chase VISA, you can get a 15% discount on many of the tours.

Disney Springs

If all of this is not enough to convince you to take an adults-only trip to Walt Disney World, I have two more things that might convince you…shopping and nightlife! The new Disney Springs area includes delicious restaurants, fun shopping experiences, entertainment, and so much more. You have to check it out!

If you decide to indulge in an adults-only trip to Walt Disney World, my best suggestion is to book off-season. During the slower times of the year, crowds are lighter and rates can be lower. I think you will enjoy your trip for two so much that you will want to do it again and again!
