Celebrate National Hot Dog Day at Disney Parks

Today is National Hot Dog Day but Disney Parks celebrates this summer staple all year round!  Did you know that more than 6.4 million hot dogs are consumed at the Disney Parks and resorts annually?  That’s a lot of dogs!  

Disney Parks do not just serve up ordinary hot dogs though.  If the regular hot dog is what your taste buds crave, you can always get a plain hot dog but Disney is known to serve up some pretty decadent hot dogs – designer dogs!  So, let’s celebrate National Hot Dog Day at Disney Parks and take a look at some of the most decadent dogs you can enjoy!  Here are a few to tempt your taste buds!  Of course, everything tastes better at Disney, right?

Let’s start with my personal favorite….the Home Run Hot Dog at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Grill.  I love the caramelized onions and the stone ground mustard – classic and simple!

The Macaroni & Cheese Hot Dog can be found at Restaurantosaurus at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Fairfax Fare at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  This dog is topped with creamy macaroni and cheese and bacon bits.  The version at Fairfax Fare is drizzled with truffle oil.  Sinfully delicious!

And, for a little taste of classic Americana, the Chili-Cheese Hot Dog from Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom Park can’t be beat.  Every one knows that Walt Disney loved all things chili, right.  Chili dogs were also one of his favorites!  Grab a bunch of napkins – this one is a bit messy, but oh so worth it!

Last, but not least, on the list of Disney Parks “Top Dogs” is the Barbecued Pork and Coleslaw Gourmet Hot Dog found at Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom Park.  Topped with pulled barbecued pork and creamy coleslaw, this hearty dog is a beast and can easily be shared.  Grab one of these yummy treats and enjoy it picnic-style in the new grassy area of the Hub.
