Trek on over to Tamu Tamu Refreshments for mouthwatering cuisine with a little mild African spice and flair. Meaning “very delicious” in Swahili, Tamu Tamu is a quaint little walk-up window eatery near the entrance to Africa from Discovery Island. Located at the corner of the paths from Africa that lead to the Kilimanjaro Safaris and the paths that lead to Asia. You can’t miss it with its “GOOD EATS” sign atop the building. This is a great little place to grab a light bite or refreshment.
If you are a fan of the Dole Whip found only in the Magic Kingdom park, you will be delighted to know that Disney has brought this wonderfully soft whipped pineapple delight to the Animal Kingdom and you can find it right here at Tamu Tamu Refreshments. You can even add dark rum or coconut rum to it!
Tamu Tamu has a charming courtyard with seating outside in the middle of the bustling village of Harame allowing guests to soak up the African sights and sounds.
