Africa Land

As you leave the Discovery Island Area, you are transported to the diverse continent of Africa Land, the largest land in Disneys Animal Kingdom Theme Park.  The fictional village of Harambe is modeled after an East African coastal town and is alive with tradition.  Africa Land is home to a 40-foot Baobob tree – the icon of the African savanna and a 20-minute, open-air ride through the African savanna on Kilimanjaro Safari.  Don’t miss the outstanding animal exhibits at Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, the pageantry of the Festival of the Lion King Show and the popular character dining spot, Tusker House.

In keeping with the authenticity, the roofs in the Village of Harambe were hand-thatched by people of Zululand in South Africa and the Tam Tam Drummers can found in front of the Dawa Bar delivering rhythms of the Congo beat.
