Great news from Walt Disney World News!  Disney Vacation Club members get first shot at the new Polynesian Bungalows and Villas starting today!

Disney Vacation Club will begin initial sales for its newest resort, Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows today. Current Disney Vacation Club Members will be able to purchase real estate interests beginning today, Jan. 12, and general sales will begin Feb. 9. When the first phase opens, scheduled for April 1, the resort will introduce unique Disney accommodations, including Bora Bora Bungalows and connecting Deluxe Studios. Continue reading

Farewell to Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat

This week, Disney fans will say farewell to Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat at the Hollywood Studios Park.  Standing at 122 feet tall, this structure inspired by the “Sorcerer’s Apprentice” portion of the 1940 animated classic, Fantasia, debuted on September 28, 2001 as part of the 100 Years of Magic Celebration at Walt Disney World.  After the celebration ended in 2003, the hat remained as the icon of Disney’s Hollywood Studios parks for another 11 years replacing Earful Tower, but not without disappointment to many.  While some loved the new addition to the park, many have referred to it as an “eyesore” for many years.

Capacity Closing Phases

MKcapacityWalt Disney World is designed to handle massive crowds of people.  During the most crowded times of the year, mainly between Christmas and New Years but sometimes July 4th as well, the Magic Kingdom can hold upwards of 100,000 guests.  Sounds crazy, doesn’t it?  It’s no picnic, that’s for sure.  It’s a sea of people, walking shoulder-to-shoulder and stroller-to-stroller.

With the massive amounts of people, there are likely to be problems for guests – inflated and insane wait time for attractions (some have reached well over 3 hours), FastPasses becoming unavailable and the ultimate letdown of your Disney vacation – the parks have reached capacity and are closing their gates to incoming guests.   GASP!
