First Look at Harambe Market

Get a first look at Harambe Market, the newest addition to Africa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that will open Saturday, May 23.   This exciting new addition to Africa promises to serve up African-inspired street food and plenty of shady spots to relax.

Disney Imagineers and project team members traveled to Lamu, Kenya to study architecture and learn how African foods and spices inspired parts of the area’s storyline.

Twenty Eight & Main Collection Coming Soon

A new line of merchandise from Twenty Eight & Main is coming this year to Disney Parks.

Twenty Eight & Main theme park merchandise exclusive collection of quality goods was designed for the discerning gentleman who enjoys visiting Disney Parks. The collection will contain apparel items such as short and long-sleeved shirts, vintage-style T-shirts, hats and more.

There will also be accessories including drinkware, D-Tech phone cases and other travel items. The Arts & Collectibles team used some of the Twenty Eight & Main artwork at the small kiosk called The Sign Shop in the Marketplace Co-Op at Downtown Disney Marketplace.

Disney Channel Stars to Kick off Summer

unnamedDisney Channel Stars will be on hand to Kick Off ‘Coolest Summer Ever’. If your kids are fans of the hit shows on Disney Channel and Disney XD, and listen to Radio Disney, they won’t want to miss these special events within the Walt Disney World Resort 24-hour Summer Kickoff on Friday, May 22. Some of the network’s most popular stars will be dropping by the party at Magic Kingdom Park throughout the day, giving fans a unique opportunity to see their favorites in person at fun themed events.

  • Disney Channel’s Club Chill: Be sure to check out this super-cool party zone in Tomorrowland from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., where you can see a DJ spinning the latest tunes, previews of upcoming films and music videos, and more. Keep your eyes peeled because you never know if some of guests’ favorite Disney Channel and Disney XD stars might just stop by.
  • Grand Marshals for the 3 p.m. “Disney Festival Of Fantasy Parade“: Watch as some of your favorite Disney Channel and Disney XD stars kick off the 3 p.m. “Disney Festival Of Fantasy Parade.”

“Coolest Summer Ever” Commemorative Shirt

In just 6 short days, the Walt Disney World Resort will kick off the “Coolest Summer Ever” in the Magic Kingdom Park.  The 24-hour event starts at 6:00 a.m. on May 22nd until 6:00 a.m. May 23rd.

Of course, there is great merchandise to celebrate it but the “Coolest Summer Ever” Commemorative shirt is the coolest thing yet!

This commemorative t-shirt design for this year will have ink that changes color when exposed to sunlight adding hues of pinks and yellows to the host of the party, Olaf.

The shirt will be found in Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom Park and will also be available online from May 22-31 at DisneyStore.com/ParkEvents.

As if that shirt isn’t sweet enough, a colorful cupcake can be found at the Main Street Bakery and the Main Street Confectionary on Main Street as well as Gaston’s Tavern and Big Top Souvenirs in New Fantasyland.  Looks delish!
