“What? Why would you go on a Disney Cruise, your children are grown?” “You are going on a Disney Cruise with only adults? You will never get a moment of quiet or relaxation!”
Yes, these are the questions I get every time I tell someone I am going on a Disney Cruise. My first cruise on Disney Cruise Line was with my husband and our two adult children – I have never cruised on Disney with children. And I continue to cruise on Disney – with adults! Let me tell you a little about what makes a Disney Cruise so special – for ALL ages!!
Disney Cruises are designed for families, couple, friends, adults and children…and singles!! Yes, on our first cruise, a grandmother traveling alone was one of our tablemates. She was amazing and fun and was thoroughly enjoying her cruise on the Disney Magic as an adult!
Let’s take one day as an example. You can begin with breakfast in your stateroom, with room service, or in one of the restaurants on the ship. OR, maybe enjoy a specialty cup of coffee and pastry in the Cove Café – the adult only café in the adult only section of the ship. All four ships have the Café, and you can even have a frequent-cup-of-coffee card! There is an additional charge for the coffee, but the lovely pastries are complimentary, and adults only!
As the morning progresses, perhaps you would enjoy a massage in the Senses Spa and Salon, or work out in the Fitness Center – all areas for those guests 18 and over!

And there are adult pool areas too. Adult only pool areas are a quiet and relaxing oasis with adult drinks available to enjoy for an additional charge. The gentlemen who serve you will become your friends! This is Dwayne with our adult daughter and us. He was also a relative of another wonderful crew member we met!

There are activities throughout the day as well. Mixology classes, wine and liquor tastings and cooking classes. The Daily Navigator (the daily schedule of events) has a separate listing for adult activities to enjoy. Even Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island, has an adult only beach area and adult only lunch!
And, of course, the food. The main dining rooms are amazing. But you may choose to enjoy one of the specialty dining experiences for adults 18 and over – Palo or Remy. Both are an additional charge and are an amazing culinary treat.

Of course, just because you are an adult and traveling without children, doesn’t mean you can’t ACT like a kid! It is Disney, after all! You too can have your picture taken with the characters! The water slides, the AquaDuck (Fantasy and Dream) and AquaDunk (Magic) aren’t just for kids! We had many laughter-filled rides!!

The ships are beautiful, the service can’t be beaten, the food is fantastic, there are plenty of opportunities to be with adults, and the chance to watch the eyes of a child light up with the magic of Disney will warm your heart.
