Vans released their line of Disney footwear and apparel collection online and at Vans retail locations coast to coast. Sharing a rich heritage of being rooted in Southern California, both Vans and Disney are dedicated to those who are young at heart and never stop following their dreams.
As a young Floridian always looking for a good wave, Vans were a part of my daily wear. At the time, the classic black or red checkerboard were among my favorite shoes. They were cool and comfortable and fit my Florida “always at the beach” style. I can remember the look on my Mom’s face when I held up the first pair I wanted – she was shocked, “You want WHAT?” She was such a fashion diva!
Fast forward almost 30 years – I take my 13-yr old daughter school shopping and she pulls me into the Vans store. My reaction is quite different from what my mother gave me. I was excited she chose such a cool line of shoes and found myself a little excited to try them on again too. Needless to say, my girl bought 3 pairs, me – none. I laughed at myself thinking “Holly, you are not a 15-yr old surfer girl anymore.” I felt silly putting them on my 40-something self – felt old trying to be a teen again. Well, that was until vans released a line with my favorite mouse on them! MUST HAVE!
