For the longest time, guests have only been able to purchase certain merchandise in the Disney Store online. Now, thanks to the new Shop Disney Parks app, you can order and ship authentic Walt Disney World® Resort products found only at the resort right to your home!
Of course, this information was released last week but I did not have the time to check it out until today. It sure has brought a smile to my face knowing that I can search for newly released items and not even have to be in the parks to purchase them. I can’t say that my husband will be equally happy about this release though!
So, let’s check it out. Shop Disney Parks lets you shop the way you want to, and makes it super easy and convenient to find thousands of products that were created especially for Disney Parks. Looking for clothing? It’s there. Home decor, art or collectibles? Yep, you guessed it – you can order it online now! The best part – this new app will be adding new items every week.
Another cool option, there is an online map that can be used to locate products if you are in the theme parks or any of the resorts. The app provides delivery options which let you ship directly to your home. Nice! Being a big fan of Alex and Ani bracelets, I did a search for the Ariel bangle bracelet I want but didn’t purchase when I was there last weekend. The map shows several shops across the property where I can find this bangle but since I am at home in the Carolinas, I added it to my bag and am having it shipped to my home! Super simple!
Let’s say you are in the parks and you see a product you really want but it is too large to carry. Sure, you can sent it to your resort for a later pick-up, but what if you are also traveling by plane to get home? Simple solution – you can scan the barcode in the shop, purchase the item through the app and have that item sent directly to your home.
Annual Passholder and Disney Vacation Club discounts apply to purchases made through the app. Simply login with your Disney account login and your discount will be applied automatically. Shop Disney Parks is available for iPhone, iPad and smartphones for Android so download it today!
Additional enhancements in the coming weeks will include delivery to the front of theme parks as well as delivery to your Disney resort hotel. Unfortunately, products from Disneyland Resort and Disney Cruise Line are not available via Shop Disney Parks.
